The Celtic Tales Storytelling Show is back again this year and running every Thursday night from the 22nd of February to the 19 of December! An Tóstal Salthill Sailing Festival

An Tósatal is back after a very successful return to the traditional boat-racing scene last year. Everything from Galway Hookers to currachaí will be in the water off of Ladies' Beach in Salthill, each vying to win precious points in their respective classifications for the season. A Galway hooker in full-sail is truly a sight to behold and not something you would want to miss, especially since its going to be free!! Food and music will also be available to those who want to see the action.

Galway Brittany Fest 2024

The connection between Lorient and Galway has been a massive cultural and social boon for both regions since their pairing over 45 years ago. Everything from musicians to chefs and everything in-between have hopped over and back between Ireland and France in the name of growing and developing the relationship between our two cities. This festival serves to further develop this connection by bringing sport, music and food from Brittany to Galway for a week, with events being held in The Crane Bar and Rouge to name but a few locations. Keep an eye on this page for any updates!

Social Activity Programme
GCI offers a weekly activity social programme with many options to choose from. The activity programme is designed monthly, and some highlights may include cultural events across the city and county, practical workshops on various themes and topics from grammar clinics to CV preparation and Irish culture, volunteer opportunities or weekend trips to famous landscapes across Ireland and the Wild Atlantic Way. The social activity programme enables students to enhance their learning experiences by practicing their English skills in the real world and getting to know other English students outside of the classroom.
Our main social activities are listed above and a more detailed breakdown of daily activities available in the school is available below. During the summer, students can book activities during the lunch break, Monday to Thursday in Halla Mor.
